For Rent

Calodyne

Calodyne is a quiet north-eastern coastal village, home to many expatriates. For the most part untouched by developers and beach resorts, this little vilage is tucked between the buzzing town of Grand Gaube and the fast-developing village of Petit Raffray.

Its large expanse of sandy beaches is bordered by a collection of beautiful blue lagoons. Quiet, laid-back and simply breathtaking, the coastline emanates a unique sense of serenity. The Coin de Mire (Gunner's Quoin), a landmark islet full of indigenous flora and fauna, can be seen from many vantage points in calodyne.

Just off the coastal road, the house is a stone's throw away (200m) from the public beach Butte Ã  l'Herbe. Reknown for its large lagoon and shallow water, Butte Ã  l'Herbe is ideal for children and for quiet chill outs at the sea side. Joggers and strollers alike can be seen in the early mornings or later in the evenings, and family picnics are common all year round.

The Villa is a convenient 10 minutes drive from both French-medium and English-medium international schools. There are many shop houses and small 'markets' in Calodyne where one can buy groceries and the basics. A short 10-15 minutes drive further north along the coastal road is hip and vibrant Grand Baie. The town of Grand baie hosts various shopping malls, bars, health care centres, and the famous beaches of Pereybere and Choisy. Port-Louis, the country's capital city, is an otherwise 30-minutes drive away.
